The King's Death

A kiss for your throne

Deceit for your jewels,

Embedded in your crown

A mirrored image of your “highness”

The pride you receive for being praised

For such a “deed”

No smile can hide your front

No lie can avenge her

Such a game could never even the score

Spit on what you had

Turn away from it all

But the world is no longer for you

It doesn’t sit in your hands

But to only make a mockery of you

In which, only the bird could sing

In which, only her pretty wings could fly

But that part has died

Scratched up feathers,

A diamond in the rough

Keep collecting your jewels

Shine them up, only to use them,

Then put them back inside your…

Even if you may hear it in your head,

No one is clapping

No one is applauding your deception

Bull’s shit for your words

Wave your blood to bribe it

Crimson dreams through black blood’s bones

A noose on the past,

Hang it up to dry

Wither it out, then strain it good

Watch it stream down your plastered dreams

Addiction couldn’t feed the fein

The sun’s laughing at tomorrow

And hiding for today

No thoughts left to think, or words left to say

Beaming through the rose-colored glass

Pearls to droop around her neck

Tighten it up,

To choke out the hope that she once had

Faceless knights,

Line your armor

Masked beliefs,

Hang on your back,

To serve as your robe

So they may bow down to your feet

And give you a kiss,

But to say goodbye,

Is to turn on bitterness,

Because the king's death is always sweet
