"I am a dark rock surged upon, and overswept, but through it all, I remain myself. When covered by the waters, I am; and the ebb but reveals me again."

The Show

Isolate yourself from technicalities
Reverse the world, and defy gravity
Homeless from her heart, he suffers from depravity
Distance for a soul is seen but nothing as a travesty
Sweet tooth for love, better hope you don't have a cavity.
The rebound is made to blind thee
Mask the truth, but I guess it's best for closed eyes, than to see
A caged bird without wings, doesn't mean it isn't free
Karma is a bitch, but in the end he won't forget she, me, we.
Together, we are gone, call us the absentee.
If it's not a comedy, then it's a tragedy
Undone actions, no change in time, where is the return key?
The show has already started, there is no readmission fee.
I am the award, so I guess he was the nominee.

Today's Truth

Mellow her soul
Door locked
Lack of money for dream’s toll
Smothered screams, she is shocked
Illuminating tomorrow’s lies
With today’s truth
Kissed pursed lips upon disguise
Words forced out between yesterday’s youth
Mock the widow
Resistance, trapped in her web
No cries though
Churned in the tide’s ebb
Burned blood and healed scar
Standards failed in her pursuit
Argued her point, she has balanced the bar?
Lack of direction, there is no route
No roots to ground her tree
Understanding in arrangement
Calling out to lost rebels, hear their plea
Loss of humanity, our estrangement
Kill one bird with two stones
Call it immorally wrong
Mark the city limits with summoned bones
No categories, where does moral belong?
She accepts her repeated reflection
Death of old perceptions
A mirror can’t see its own faults, no rejection
Creations of the mind, illusionistic conceptions
Beneath the earth, her soul may lie
Knelt to the ground, she prays to God
Farewell to the present, waters run dry
Pious intentions, we shall applaud.

Paragraph

I laugh at the ellipsis
That draws a division between two
Once connected points
I read the same sentence
Over and over
Attempting to understand
A hopeless idea
The point keeps going
Back to what it once knew
Silly.
Worthless.
It should be deleted.
Erased.
The writer entices me
With provoked emotions
From a statement that
Seems to stab at my heart
I, the other point,
Strive to move forward down the page,
Progressing farther and farther away,
From the one point that seems to dwell
In past paragraphs, past pages, past ideas,
Making no changes.
I whirl away in my own thoughts
Arguing for what propels me forward
The writer stops his pen
And I am stagnant.
On the page, I linger.
A single point.
A single statement.
Questioning my existence.
The writer writes.
But I am still stopped.
While the other point,
Seems to fall through the pages
Falling out of his own existence
Falling into fears
Of not being understood
Of not making changes.
I glance.
I think.
But I let it all fall away with him.
Through the pages
Into empty space
I carry on.
Is this the end?
The end of the page that I am approaching?
I want so bad for it to be the end
To know that there is a definite decision
To know that the pages will be shaped by my very meaning
But the writer,
Puts three dots after my point has been made.
An ellipsis...
To show the continual progression of a point
The division has turned into a gap between
The two points,
But the writer makes me go on
For what I don’t know,
But I am bound by this ellipsis,
To go beyond what I used to know,
Into a place of temporary solitude...

Self

I have waved it behind my mask
Disguising my inhibitions
Prohibiting my past to prevail
I have called on His ease
To heal what could not be understood
Felt beneath the surface
Waves over my head
But I no longer drown
Detached, separated, divided
Better now than later
I have cradled that hope in my heart
For a time that has caused it to grow stale
I have not won tangible things
But I have won control over the emotions
The thoughts
The anger
That I once felt
Bridges used to separate me,
But now they connect me to
A self that is better than what I used to be
