The World's Cry on My Shoulder

The world's cry on my shoulder
God took his hands and attempted to mold her
But she ran away, wailing to the wind
Regrets in dancing with the devil for an unpolished sin
They say love your enemies, as if y'all were a unit
Attaching strings to your heart?
Make sure you tune it
Searching the closet for your skeletons
But make sure you know which way the river has ran, before it runs
He begs for her sympathy
My heart only holds emotions of antipathy
Multiple bullet wounds to the heart, there's no need for a shield
I kept a secret, but does that mean my lips are sealed?
Interchange the game, replace the blame
Equivalency to an unmarked name
You see, the world has committed its own assassinations
But a kid sees no differences, so he looks with fascination
Funny how the sun can rise on my side, and fall on his
No explanation, so it's best to see it for what it is
Stepping my bloody feet on the holy ground
Wondering as if lost, but walking to be found
She believed in him & he ended up creating his own demise
There is nothing left, game over, he's all out of tries
So look to the skies, because this is a dream deferred
Living over dying is what she preferred
She said screw the past and give me the present
No feeling behind it, but he knows she meant it
So place your thoughts beyond what is known
Because what is seen, is often not shown
But as the tears fall, the world grows older
So I stood up and said, "here, use my shoulder"
